ROHNERT PARK -- After losing all three doubles matches, the Sonoma State women's tennis team gave all they had in singles play, but ultimately came up short in Sunday's 6-3 loss to the Academy of Art on a warm day at the SSU Tennis Courts in Rohnert Park.  The 28th-ranked Seawolves fall to 4-3 this season while the 26th-ranked Urban Knights remain perfect on the year at 5-0.

With a 3-0 lead after doubles, the Academy of Art earned its fourth point at No. 5 singles and needed just one more to clinch the match.  Sara Celma and Leire Martinez delayed the AAU victory by winning at No. 1 and No. 2 singles in straight sets, respectively, but the Urban Knights clinched the match at No. 4 singles.  The only other point for the Seawolves on Sunday came at No. 6 singles where Lauren Ha won a marathon match -- 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) -- one that lasted nearly two and a half hours.

Celma, the 10th-ranked player in Division II, kept her singles record unblemished in dual matches this season, moving to 7-0 at the top spot.  Martinez has now won five straight matches, improving to 6-1 at the No. 2 position.  Ha has won four straight matches as she raises her career record to 50-26, which is four wins away from capturing the career singles wins record.

Sonoma State will next host Notre Dame de Namur on Friday at 1:00 pm.
