ROHNERT PARK -- The Sonoma State women's tennis team picked up their sixth consecutive win on Saturday as they swept fellow Pacific West Conference member Hawaii-Hilo in a home match at the SSU Tennis Courts in Rohnert Park. The Seawolves, ranked 32nd in the nation and 9th in the latest ITA regional poll, improve to 10-4 overall.
Two of the three doubles matches were decided in short order, with the No. 1 team of
Sara Celma and
Kaitlyn Haithcock, as well as the No. 3 team of
Sheena Johnson and
Karlee Budge, earning 8-0 victories.
Three Seawolves won their singles matches in 6-0, 6-0 fashion, as well.
Leire Martinez at No. 2,
Sheena Johnson at No. 4, and
Karlee Budge at No. 5 all pulled off the sweep, while no Seawolf allowed their opponents more than two games.
The Seawolves will host NCAA Division I Eastern Washington on Sunday at their home court.
