SAN FRANCISCO -- Caylie Seitz smashed 18 kills on Saturday night, bringing her career total to a program-best 1,524, and combined with
Madelyn Densberger's 19 kills, the 24th-ranked Sonoma State volleyball team held off a fiesty San Francisco State squad in five sets (25-17, 25-19, 21-25, 20-25, 15-11) on Saturday night at The Swamp in San Francisco.
The Seawolves have now won 10 straight matches improving to 14-3 overall and 10-1 in the CCAA. The Gators fell to 9-10 (7-5 CCAA).
Lexi Reddick also recorded double-digit kills, adding 11 while also making 11 digs. Densberger led all players with 19 kills and a team-high four blocks.
Kaitlyn Connolly eclipsed her career-best digs mark in the win, tallying 30 digs on defense.
Seitz, who is on pace to also break the program's kill per set record, topped the previous career kills record of 1,510 set by former SSU standout Ally Sather (2009-12).
Sonoma State will return home on Wednesday to face Cal State L.A. at 7:00 pm, beginning a four-match homestand in The Wolves' Den.
