#8 Seawolves, Warriors Play To Scoreless Tie On Friday

ROHNERT PARK -- Despite an 18-11 shot advantage in the match, the No. 8 Sonoma State women's soccer team was forced into a scoreless tie with Stanislaus State on Friday at the Seawolf Soccer Field.  Both the Seawolves (10-1-3, 7-0-2 CCAA) and Warriors (9-3-3, 4-2-3 CCAA) earned a point in the CCAA standings.

Sonoma, which remains in first place by four points over UC San Diego with three games left in the regular season, also clinched a spot in the CCAA tournament with the tie on Friday.

Sonoma State has shutout its opponents 11 times this season, including seven in a row; the Seawolves haven't allowed a goal in the last 690 minutes, 52 seconds.  The program record for most consecutive shutouts is 10, which was set by the 1991 team.  That year, SSU recorded 16 shuouts in the 21 games they played.

Ashley Luis made four saves in the contest while her counterpart, Chelsea Lewandowski, made eight stops.

Sonoma State will play its final regular season home game on Sunday when it plays host to Cal State East Bay for Senior Day.  Kickoff is set for 11:30 am.
