ROHNERT PARK -- In the 2014-15 home finale for the Seawolves, they weren't able to celebrate the occasion with a victory as they lost 53-36 to Cal State Stanislaus Saturday night at the Wolves' Den. The Seawolves see their CCAA record drop to 4-16 and 6-19 overall. The Warriors up their conference record to 6-14 and 8-16 overall.
The first half got off to a great start for the Seawolves as they jumped out to a 9-2 lead when
Emilee Osagiede hit a free throw, but the Warriors would chip away and took the lead at 13-11 with 4:11 remaining in the half. The Warriors would extend their lead to 29-19 and take the 10 point advantage to their locker room. The Warriors would keep building on their lead and open up a 19-point advantage before settling on the 17 point victory.
Sonoma State was outshot in the game 33.3% (19-57) to 26.9% (14-52). The Seawolves grabbed six more rebounds than the Warriors (41-35). The Warriors bench outscored the Seawolves 28-8 for the game.
Madison Burroughs led all Sonoma State scorers with 10 points on the night.
Hannah Sourek had eight points and seven rebounds.
Carly Gill had eight rebounds on the night.
The Warriors were led in scoring by Briana Cotton who had 12 points.
Sonoma State plays their final two games in Southern California with the first one coming Friday night against Cal State Dominguez Hills at 5:30 PM.
