TURLOCK, Calif. -- For the sixth time in nine matches this seasons, the 26th-ranked Sonoma State women's tennis team continued its record-breaking start to a season with a 9-0 victory over No. 50 Stanislaus State on Saturday in Turlock. The Seawolves remain perfect in 2016, improving to 9-0. The Warriors fell under .500 to 4-5.
Sonoma cruised to three quick victories in doubles play before
Hillary Fazekas,
Jensyn Warren,
Amanda Zuidema and
Karlee Budge captured wins in straight sets to open singles play.
Jordyn Kearney and
Kaitlyn Haithcock both lost the first set of their match at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively, but they rallied for wins in the second set and the 10-point tiebreaker to secure the Seawolves' second 9-0 sweep of the Warriors this season.
Sonoma State will next play four matches in four days, beginning with a matchup at No. 13 Azusa Pacific on Monday at 1:00 pm.
