LA JOLLA, Calif. -- Despite being outshot by a margin of 16-8, including 10-3 in the first half, the Sonoma State men's soccer team held on to force a scoreless draw at UC San Diego on Friday evening in La Jolla.
It was Sonoma's fourth draw of the season -- the third of the scoreless variety -- as it moves to 3-2-4 overall and 3-1-1 in the CCAA. UC San Diego moved 6-1-2, 1-1-1 in the CCAA.
Sonoma State was outshot by UCSD 16-8, however the Seawolves would have more shots on goal, 4-3.
Evan Roehrig fired a team-high three shots on the night, all on goal.
Mitch North had three saves on the night, while Cameron McElfresh of UCSD had four saves.
Sonoma State continues its road trip in Southern California on Sunday against Cal State San Marcos. Kickoff is set for 2:00 pm.
