SANTA ROSA, Calif. – The Seawolves succumbed to the Coyotes of Cal State San Bernardino 65-52 Friday night. Sonoma goes to a .500 record in CCAA play at 4-4 and are lowered to 8-6 overall. San Bernardino rises to 4-3 in conference and 7-4 overall.
Leading Sonoma States' offense,
Kylie Kiech scored 20 points, six from behind the three-point arch and was 12 for 12 from the charity stripe.
Madison Burroughs added twelve points and six rebounds, five of them offensive, however it was
Taylor Todd that lead the team with twelve total rebounds.
Carly Gill also had six.
Sonoma scored almost even with San Bernardino in the first two quarters. Down 14-23 with three minutes left in the second quarter, The Seawolves went on a 9-3 run to go into halftime 26-23.
In the third quarter, the Coyotes pulled away outscoring the Seawolves 24-13. On the game, they scored 36 of their points from inside the paint and converted 17 points from Seawolf turnovers while shooting 45 percent overall. Comparatively, Sonoma shot 27 percent on the night.
The Seawolves will take on the UC San Diego Tritons Saturday January 14th at 5:30pm. Santa Rosa Junior College will host the match as the Wolves' Den is under construction.
