LA JOLLA, Calif. – The Seawolves were bested by the Tritons on Sunday's conference DH 11-1 in the first game and 14-1 in the second. Sonoma State falls 12-10 overall and 9-9 I the CCAA while the #5 UC San Diego rises to 20-5 overall and 12-3 in conference.
Game 1:
Sonoma had 1 run on 8 hits and 3 errors. Their lone run for the game was in the seventh inning as
Nicco Toni singled to center field to bring
Matthew Richards home.
Grant St. Martin was 2 for 3 from inside the box and Toni was 2 for 4 with an RBI.
Matt Hammonds is now 2-1 on the season. Against the Tritons he allowed 3 earned runs and struck out 3 as well.
Game 2:
In the second game of the day, Sonoma had 1 run on 5 hits and 3 errors.
The Seawolves scored off of a walk in the eighth inning. St. Martin battled to four balls and
Rayson Romero was able to stroll home.
Daniel Caresio and
Jake Sahagian were both 2 for 3.
Aldo Severson is now 3-2 this season.
The Seawolves will face San Francisco State in a double header on March 28 in San Francisco at 12 noon and 3:00pm.
