Seawolves Sweep Weekend Road Trip With Win Over Toros

CARSON, Calif. — Coming off a thrilling comeback performance the previous night, Sonoma State once again surprised their opponent, mounting a series of runs to work their way back from an eight point deficit, to defeat Cal State Dominguez Hills by a final of 80-64.

The Toros found a lead to begin the game and continued to hold it through much of the first half. With a three-pointer coming from Gabriel Hicks with 4:57 remaining, the Toros had opened up an eight-point lead, 30-22. However through the final minutes of the half, Sonoma State put together a 16-3 run that put the Seawolves in the driver's seat, 38-33 at the break.

From there, the Seawolves kept building. Sonoma State tore through their opponent to start the second half, going on a 17-2 run with the 4:24 of the period. Isaac Davidson and Jordan Hickman—who both ended their night with double-digit performances—each netted six points in the run, pushing their team out to a 20-point margin, 55-35. That lead would prove to be the Seawolves' biggest of the night.

Through the final 15:48 Lewayne Grant, proved to be the leader for Sonoma State. The junior guard added 12 points to his totals, finishing the night with 19, helping the Seawolves cruise to victory, 80-64.

With the win the Seawolves sweep their weekend road trip and move to 7-8 and 5-6 in CCAA play, before returning to the Wolves' Den this Friday to take on Cal State Monterey Bay at 7:30pm
