TURLOCK, Calif. – Sonoma State suffered a 4-0 loss against Stanislaus State at Warrior Stadium Sunday night, dropping to 2-9-3 on the season and 0-8-2 in conference play.
The Warriors put together a trio of first-half goals in the span of 10 minutes to take a commanding 3-0 lead before the end of the first half. Goals by Javier Ceballos and Sean Bender each came on a through ball before the pair of Stan State forwards respectively converted each of their shots. Joseph Mayorca then took a shot in the 30th minute which was saved by
Arturo Ornelas before the ball deflected out to Adrian Yepez who pushed the ball into the back of the net for a 3-0 lead.
Antonio Hernandez cemented the Warriors' three-goal lead with a goal of his own in the 72nd minute as a follow up on a deflected shot which came back to Hernandez who drilled it home.
The Seawolves head to Humboldt State next weekend for a non-conference match up with the Jacks at College Creek Field at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
