Jacks Women Edge Seawolves in Conference Opener

Rohnert Park, Calif. – Down as many as 18 points, Sonoma State nearly completed a miraculous comeback but fell short to Humboldt State 68-56 in the conference opener.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: Despite committing nine turnovers in the opening two quarters, Humboldt State shot 40 percent (9-for-22) from the floor in building a 32-24 lead at intermission. In addition, the visitors held the Cougars to eight made field goals on their 29 attempts (27.6 percent). 
 
The Seawolves tied the score three times in the second half (32-32, 38-38, 40-40), ending the game behind 68-56.
 
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
- Sonoma shot 38 percent from the field while the Jacks hit 37.3 percent of their attempts
- Seawolves won the bench points 20-to-5 and the point in the paint 22-to-12
- A season-high performance from Ugochi Anudokem who recorded 18 points and 12 rebounds against the Jacks
- Sophie Northern (14) rounded out the double-figure scorers for Sonoma State
