Azusa, Calif. — Jensyn Warren ended the 2017-18 season ranked fifth in the NCAA Division II singles proven to be a force to be reckoned with. Warrens run at the ITA Division II West Region Championships this fall ended in the final match at the hands of Academy of Art's Monika Stanikova, the No. 3 seeded player in the tournament, 6-4, 7-5.

SAINT MARY'S RECAP

Moraga, Calif. — The Seawolves returned to Moraga for an NCAA Division I heavy Saint Mary Invitational. 
 
Schools that competed in the invitational included UC Berkeley, Standard, UC Davis, University of Washington, University of San Francisco, Sacramento State, University of the Pacific, Santa Clara, Academy of the Art, Fresno State, Sonoma State, San Jose State, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and the hosts Saint Mary's.

Sonoma State picked up sixteen wins over Division I opponents, seven wins in doubles and nine in singles.
 
Doubles
The tandem of Warren and Brooner beat four division one opponents to win their respected doubles bracket. In the 16th round, Warren and Brooner downed Jasie Dunk and Jessica Zeynet of UC Berkley 8-7(6). The two advanced to the quarterfinals where they beat Amber Del Rosarlo and Sofia Wicker from the University of San Francisco 8-4. In the semifinals, Warren and Brooner took on Chloe Goyette and Jordan Harris from host school Saint Mary's where they won 8-3 and advanced to the Championship against Nikita Pradeep and Shirley Hall from UC Davis. Warren and Brooner came out on top 8-3 to win their doubles bracket. 
 
In the consolation bracket, the pairing of Colling and DeTurk beat two Division I opponents and a PacWest program. Colling and DeTurk beat Naomie and Rosenberg and Elizabeth Yao of Stanford 8-4 in the quarterfinals. Once the in semis Colling and DeTurk faced Grace Olyphants and Emily Ackerman of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo 8-3. Colling and DeTurk faced a familiar pair from the Academy of Art, Sofia Ragona and Marlacriatina Andriaant in an 8-4 championship win.
 
Paired together, Highsmith and Kingsley beat at the division one duo of Jessica Kaye and Hannah Ketcherside from the University of the Pacific 8-1 to win their respective Consolation bracket.
 
Singles 
In the consolation bracket, Brooner beat division one opponent Elizabeth Yao in the round of sixteen 6-1, 6-2 to advance to a quarterfinal comeback over Georgia Townsend of the University of the Pacific 2-6, 6-1, 1-0(6). Once to the semifinals, Brooner faced teammate Colling. Colling beat Nadine Del Carmon of Santa Clara in the 32 round 6-3, 6-2, then Naomie Yao of Stanford 6-3, 7-6(6) in the round of 16, and Christina Zordani of the University of Washington 6-3, 6-2 in the semifinals. 
 
Warren advanced to the Quarterfinals after taking down two Division I opponents. In the 32 round, Warren beat Sara Taukamoto of UC Davis 6-4, 6-2. And Maryann Rompt of the University of Washington 6-4, 6-2. 
 
DeTurk beat Laura Malsert of San Jose State in the round of 32, 7-5, 6-4.


STANISLAUS WARRIOR INVITATIONAL
Oct. 26 – Oct. 28
 
Turlock, Calif. – Sonoma State dominated doubles at the Warrior Tennis Invitational hosted by PacWest opponent Stanislaus State. The Seawolves own faced off in the final match, ending in top-seeded Brooner and DeTurk defeating No. 13 Colling and Highsmith, 6-3.

Colling fought her way to the Singles A Finals after beating Kayla Nguyen (Stan.), 6-0, 6-4 in the quarterfinals, then defeated No. 16 Sabrina Rodriguez (PAC), 6-2, 7-6 (8) to advance to the finals where she fell 6-3, 6-3 to Cassidy Ferrell (Stan.).
