Seawolves Downed by Pioneers

Rohnert Park, Calif. – The Seawolves kept the score within one point (12-11) at the end of the first period and tied the game three times in the forty minutes but fell short 55-38 at the hands of Cal State East Bay.
 
Sonoma State is now 3-4 overall and 1-3 in the CCAA.
 
Ugochi Anudokem shot her fifth double-digit game of the season, averaging 13.7 per game this season she acquired 16 points against the Pioneers. Anudokem also snagged one steal, three blocks and six rebounds to lead the Seawolves. Sophie Northern chipped-in an eight-point evening, grabbing four rebounds, one steal, and one block. 
 
During the last quarters of each period the Seawolves were held to single-digit points in each frame. 
 
In the first half, the Seawolves held the Pioneers to 11% (1-for-9) from the three-point line, while they shot 20% (1-for-5).
 
After 30 minutes of play, Cal State East Bay extended its lead over the Seawolves to 26-17. Sonoma States third quarter performance nearly matching the Pioneer's as they put up 13 to Cal State East Bays 15. However, the Pioneers scored 14 of the final seven points in the quarter to take an 11-point (48-37) lead.
 
The Pioneers quickly extended its double-figure lead to start the final stanza, and they never let the Seawolves respond.
 
Sonoma State plays at home Saturday at 1:00 p.m., as they host Cal Poly Pomona.
