ROHNERT PARK -- Sarah Langley went 5 for 7 with two doubles and two RBI in the two games combined while the pitching trio of
Brielle Vidmar,
Gabby Dupree and
Brigid Ruiz altogether allowed just two runs in 14 innings as the Sonoma State softball team completed the four-game series sweep of Cal State Dominguez Hills with wins of 7-0 and 3-2 Saturday afternoon at the Seawolf Softball Field.
The Seawolves (10-4) jump into sole possession of second place in the CCAA standings with a 6-2 record in conference play, only trailing first place Chico State, which remains unblemished at 13-0 and 8-0 in conference thus far in 2018. Six teams are tied in third place two games back of SSU with .500 records. The Toros fell to 4-9 overall and 2-6 in the CCAA.
Sonoma State will host Cal State Monterey Bay (6-5, 2-2 CCAA) next Friday and Saturday at the Seawolf Softball Field. First pitch both days is scheduled for Noon.
