Seawolves Start Perfect in Phoenix

PHOENIX, Ariz. -- The nationally ranked #16 Seawolves traveled down to Phoenix, Arizona for the Phoenix Invitational where they are set to play four tennis matches in three days. The first two took place Friday, with the Seawolves locking up wins in each match.
 
Match 1: Western New Mexico
In their first game of the Invitational the #16 Seawolves took on the Mustangs of Western New Mexico. The Seawolves won the match 9-0 and moved to 6-1 on the season while the Mustangs fell to 2-1. The Seawolves won all three double matches. #18 Jensyn Warren clinched the match with her Singles 1 victory over Nadia Justiniano (6-0, 6-0). All singles matches only needed two sets.

Match 2: Colorado Mesa
In the second match of the Invitational the #16 Seawolves took on the Mavericks of Colorado Mesa. The Seawolves on the match 9-0. With the victory the Seawolves move to 7-1 on the year while the Mavericks fell to 5-8. After taking all the doubles matches the Seawolves needed one singles victory to win the match. Jenna DeTurk defeated Taylor Hershey in singles 4 (6-1, 6-1) to win the match for the Seawolves. Additionally #18 Jensyn Warren beat her Singles 1 opponent Kristen Kirby (6-1, 6-4).
