San Bernardino, Calif. -- The Seawolves fell to reigning California Collegiate Athletic Associations (CCAA) champions No. 11 San Bernardino 3-0 (25-17, 25-14, 25-15) and now sit 2-2 in conference.
After the matches first point scored by the Coyotes, the Seawolves rallied six straight points to claim the team's lone lead of the first set. San Bernardino scored the 13 of the final points to claim set one.
The second set found the Seawolves trailing most of the set. Sonoma closed the Coyotes lead 5-4 before San Bernardino claimed a six-point rally to gain a 21-9 lead before taking set two 25-14.
San Bernardino took the lead from the opening serve and despite the Seawolves best efforts, never let them hold a lead. In the second set, the Seawolves found themselves down 21-9, not able to tie the score was as close as they would come as the Coyotes took a two-set lead.
The hosts raced out to a 19-10 lead and never let the Seawolves within three points the rest of the stanza in sweeping the match.
The Seawolves will play at 7 p.m. on Saturday against Humboldt State.
