La Jolla, Ca - The SSU women's Soccer team took another large step forward at Triton Stadium tonight defeating Stanislaus State 2-1 in the CCAA Semi-Finals.
The win for the number one seeded Seawolves puts them in Sunday's Championship match up.
The fourth seeded Stanislaus Warriors put up a good fight but Sonoma State took the lead for good in the 76th minute on a penalty kick by
Julia Pritchard. The defense did the rest keeping Stanislaus off the board for the final 14 minutes.

SSU scored first as leading scorer
Alexis Espitia found the net in the 20th minute off a nice feed from
Molly Murphy. But Stanislaus came right back, just 30 seconds later to score the equalizer. Autumn Halvorsen took a long feed in front from Jazzamine Thomson just behind SSU keeper
Ashley Morton and sent it home to make it 1-1.
It was one of the few lapses on defense all night by SSU as they out shot the Warriors 15-10 and allowed just 3 shots on goal.
Morton finished with 2 saves as she directed the defense all game long.
The Seawolves now play host and number 2 seed UC San Diego on Sunday at 2PM
