Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's Soccer Plays to a Draw to Claim CCAA Title

Rohnert Park, Ca - Cal Poly Pomona visited Seawolf Soccer Stadium on Wednesday afternoon trying to upset the top ranked SSU Women's Soccer team.   After 90 minutes of regulation and just over 5 minutes of OT the game was called because of darkness at 0-0.  The defenses for both teams played outstanding, keeping each other from getting clear shots on goal. Ashley Morton was once again impressive in goal for SSU and Sydney Williams was very good for the Broncos as well.

SSU's best chance came in the first half when Alexis Espitia broke free in the box, made a nice move to pull Williams out of goal but ended up too deep on the left side to find the angle and score. Her shot hit just behind the far post.

With the tie SSU will claim the CCAA Championship.  They are still ahead of UC San Diego in Points Per Contest and cannot be overtaken by Tritons even if they lose on Saturday vs Cal State San Bernadino

Congratulations to Coach Emiria Salzman Dunn and the Seawolves.  2019 CCAA CHAMPIONS!
