Carson, Ca- The Sonoma State Women's Basketball Team completed the SoCal road trip 2-0 with a 74-70 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills.
Ugochi Anudokem led the way with another double-double scoring 19 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.
After trailing in the first quarter, the Seawolves went on a 7-0 scoring run in the second and never looked back, although Dominguez Hills made a late comeback that fell short in the fourth quarter.
"We were a little tired from the game on Thursday and they had a great game plan to try to out run us. Today we gutted one out," Said Coach
Rich Shayewitz after the win. "It was a a special weekend for us. Having success in close games is vital for our growth."
Kylie Kiech chipped in 16 points and
Zane Sheckherd scored 11 as SSU shot 43.5 % on the night.
Coach Shaywitz pointed to
Serena Santos as a key to victory, running the team at the point and the bench contributing as well.
The Seawoves return home with a 7-2 record and 3-1 in CCAA play.
