Vegas – In Sunday's final game of the Seawolves wrapped up its season-opening weekend against PacWest Opponent 8-1 at the 2019 Desert Stinger Classic hosted by Montana State Billings.Â

Sophomore leadoff hitter
Julie Davis led the Seawolves offense, going 2-for-3 at the plate with three RBIs. In the circle Tereasa Danenberg got the start and credited the win for her five innings of shutout pitching,
Brielle Vidmar then came in to close allowing one hit and one run in her two innings of work.

The Seawolves began its scoring efforts in the second inning, capitalizing on an error by the Sharks to find themselves on the board 1-0.Â

Cameron Kirtlan put down a first-pitch bunt, followed by two stolen bases to score off a ground ball to the right side making the Seawolves led 2-0 after four complete innings.

Sonoma States offense held the Sharks from crossing the plate up until the final inning.Â

A double by
Jordyn Martinez, followed by a perfectly placed bunt by
Nicole Renner began Sonoma States two-run 6th inning. Linsdey Calcany Blair stepped up to the plate with a sacrifice fly to left field to score Renner to give the Seawolves 4-0 insurance entering the final stanza.Â

Behind in the count, Renner doubled down the right field line to score Martinez, and
Briana Avalos scored off a fielder's choice hit by Kirtlan. Davis capped off the top of the seventh with a two-run double down the left field line for a 6-0 lead over the Sharks.

What's Next:Â Sonoma State's home conference opener is scheduled for Friday at 12:00 pm against Humboldt State.
