Rohnert Park, Calif. –Nearing the halfway point of the season, the Sonoma State women's tennis team topped the No. 16 team in the nation, Rollins College 5-2.
The Seawolves are now 4-2 on the season.
DOUBLES:Sonoma State won the doubles point, Carolyn Brooner and Jensyn Warren tallied a 6-2 victory at No. 1, and Jenna DeTurk and Hannah Highsmith won 6-2 at No. 3. Carolina Alfonsin and Clarisa Colling fell 7-5 in the No. 2 spot.
SINGLES:Â Â Four straight singles wins secured the Seawolves victory. Warren who won 6-2, 6-0 in the No. 1 spot, DeTurk with her 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 4, Collings 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 2 to clinch the match, and Highsmith took her match 6-1, 6-2.
Brooner and Alfonsin post dropped their matches, Brooner (1-6, 7-5, 11-9) at No. 3 and Alfonsin (7-6(6), 6-3) at No. 5.
