Turlock, Calif. – Continuing its winning streak the Sonoma State women's tennis squad posted an impressive 6-1 victory against Stanislaus State on Friday afternoon.
DOUBLES: Clarisa Colling and
Carolina Alfonsin fell 6-2 in the No. 2 position,
Jenna DeTurk and
Hannah Highsmith topped Amila Gogalija and Taylor Gayla 6-3 to tie doubles 1-1.
Jensyn Warren and
Carolyn Brooner continued their success together as they recorded an 8-4 win at the No. 1 slot to claim the doubles point.
SINGLES: Four straight singles win's secured the Seawolves victory. Colling recorded Sonoma States first singles win 6-1, 6-4 at the No. 2 spot. Followed by Highsmith claiming the No. 6 match 6-3, 6-0. Brooner clinched the team match with a hard-fought 6-0, 6-4 victory at the No. 4 position.
Alfonsin put together a solid comeback win after dropping her first set, 5-7, 6-3, 10-6. DeTurk fell 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 at No. 3 and Warren topped her opponent 6-3, 7-6 (7-5) to wrap up the Seawolves 6-1 victory over the Warriors.
