Fresno, Calif. – Sonoma State picked its match up where it left off, the match against Fresno Pacific came to a halt when it began to rain in Rohnert Park March 10th.
With its 6-1 victory over the Firebirds, the Seawolves improve to 7-3 on the season.
DOUBLES: Sonoma State claimed the doubles point, sweeping doubles.
Clarisa Colling and
Carolina Alfonsin won 6-3 in No. 2 position,
Jensyn Warren and
Carolyn Brooner continued their success together as they notched a 6-4 victory at the No. 1 slot to claim the doubles point.
Jenna DeTurk and
Hannah Highsmith topped Sanne Brull/Imane Van Veen 6-4 at the No. 3 spot.
SINGLES: Three straight singles win's secured the Seawolves 6-1 win over the Sunbirds.
Brooner, won at No. 3 at 5-0 when her opponent retired — followed by Collings 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 2 over Ioanna Lathouri and DeTurks match-clinching 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 4. After falling 6-4 in set one, Warren came back at the No. 1 position to beat Marina Lex 4-6, 6-1, 6-2. Despite claiming set one 6-4, Alfonsin put up a fight in a three-set loss 4-6, 7-6, 6-4 for the Sunbirds single win. Highsmith recorded a 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 win in the No. 6 position to wrap up the Seawolves 6-1 victory over the Fresno Pacific.
