Palm Beach, FL. – In its fifth straight win, Sonoma State topped Palm Beach Atlantic University 6-1. Claiming the doubles point and only dropping one singles match, in three sets.
DOUBLES:Â Jensyn Warren and
Carolyn Brooner posted a quick 6-1 win at No. 1, then the Sail Fish tied doubles claiming No. 3 6-4 over
Jenna DeTurk and
Hannah Highsmith. The Seawolves'
Clarisa Colling and
Carolina Alfonsin clinched the doubles point in a hard fought 7-6 victory at the No. 2 position.
SINGLES:Â Five straight singles wins secured the Seawolves 6-1 defeat of the Sail Fish. Sonoma State moved around their line-up, as Colling defeated Merkersky 6-3,6-0 in the No. 2 spot and Warren topped Buchbinder 6-2, 6-3 in the No. 1 slot.Â
Brooner clinched the team match with her 6-3, 6-2 win over Rissu at the No. 3 position.
DeTurk won 6-2, 6-3 at the No. 4 spot and Alfonsin battled till the end in a 7(2)-6, 7(3)-6 victory over Van Grinsen in the No. 5 slot.
Highsmith dropped her match in a hard fought three set match, 4-6,6-4, 10-5 at No. 6.
