Reno, Nevada – In a highly contested match between nationally-ranked Sonoma State and Division I Sacramento State the Sonoma State women's tennis team gave the Hornets all that it could handle, but ultimately fell short, 4-3.
 
The No. 33 Seawolves drop to 8-4 this season.
 
Doubles: Sonoma State claimed the doubles point to gain a 1-0 lead over the Hornets. AfterCarolina Alfonsin and Clarisa Colling fell 6-0 at No. 2 the tandems of Jensyn Warren/Carolyn Brooner at No. 1 and Jenna DeTurk and Hannah Highsmith at No. 3 both won 6-2.
 
Singles: The Seawolves dropped two straight sets Alfonsin 6-4, 6-0 at No. 5 and DeTurk Jenna 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4. Then won two straight sets when Carolyn Brooner defeated Chernyetsky 6-3, 6-4 and Highsmith topped Ugarkovic in a hard fought 6-2, 1-6, 6-2 win.
 
The final two sets went three, as Colling forced a third 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 and so did Warren 2-6, 7-5, 7-6 (7-5).
