Monterey, Calif. – After dropping both games Saturday, Sonoma State bounced back to split the series with a 5-1 win over the Otters.
The Seawolves are now 20-18 overall and 18-15 in the CCAA.
On the mound,
Robert Towne picked up his fourth win of the season after throwing five innings of shutout baseball.
Following three scoreless frames
James Harwell drew a four-pitch walk, then he scored off a sacrifice fly ball to score Zachary Guardino.
In the top of the sixth, the Seawolves knocked four hits to add four more to its lead over the Otters. Singles by
Dan Deely and Harwell set the table, then with his second sacrifice fly of the game, Harwell scored
John Abate who had just been put in as a pinch runner. Then an RBI single by
Kory Brown and a two-run RBI double by
Patrick Tolbert gave the Seawolves its fifth run advantage.
A two-out RBI double in the top of the eighth put a 5-1 dent in the Seawolves lead.
