Chico, Calif. – Sonoma State dropped Saturday's doubleheader to Chico State, 7-3 in game one and 8-7 in game two. The Seawolves are now 21-24 overall, and 19-21 in the CCAA entering is final regular season conference game Sunday.
Game One: Chico State 7, Sonoma State 3
Sonoma State gained an early1-0 lead in game one with a bases-loaded RBI sacrifice fly ball to center field by

After four and a half innings of 1-0 baseball, the Wildcats tied the score in the bottom of the sixth with a double and an RBI sacrifice fly ball to center field (1-1).
The next chance they got the Seawolves doubled their lead 3-1. With a pair of walks, a pitching change and a hit by pitch the Seawolves loaded the bases. With two down and bases juiced
Kory Brown singled to right field to bring around two runs.
The Seawolves 3-1 lead fell through in the bottom of the eighth when the Wildcats hit through the lineup, knocking six hits to add six to the board for a final score of 7-3.
Game Two: Chico State 8, Sonoma State 7
21 hits between the two clubs and one out away from extra innings ended in favor of Chico State.
Sonoma State continued its early scoring trend with three hits in the first inning to load the bases,
Patrick Tolbert who went 3-for-3 at the plate in game two scored
Matt Hill with a single to shortstop.
The Wildcats matched the Seawolves three hits, scoring twice with an RBI sacrifice fly and a squeeze (2-1).
An inning and a half went by before Chico State doubled its lead to 4-1 in the third. The Wildcats scored its third run off a wild pitch, then with bases loaded they singled through the right side to score their fourth.
Sonoma State cut the Wildcats lead in half scoring one in the fourth off a single by Tolbert, two drawn walks and an RBI sacrifice fly ball by
James Harwell (4-2).
After holding the Wildcats offense to a three up three down fourth inning, the Seawolves offense broke through in the fifth. Two pitching changes for the Wildcats couldn't keep the Seawolves off the bases; the inning featured three walks and three hits for four runs. Guardino drew a leadoff walk followed by a double by Brown to place runners in scoring position. Guardino tagged on a sacrifice fly ball hit to left field by Hill (4-3). Tolbert and Josh Medina both walked to load the bases once again then
Drew Downing singled to left field to tie the game 4-4 bringing Brown around home.
Dan Deely brought in Tolbert with a sacrifice fly out to center field for a 5-4 lead over the Wildcats. Harwell extended the Seawolves lead to 6-4 with an RBI single to left field to bring Medina across the plate.
The following inning saw the Seawolves three up three down as the Wildcats strung three runs on three hits in the sixth to regain its lead 7-6.
Chico State sent out a fresh defense with four position changes, a new man on the bump and behind the dish. Tolbert continued his strong game two showing at the plate leading off the seventh with a single to right field,
Donovyn Curiel entered the game as a pinch-runner for Tolbert. Followed by a bunt for a hit by Medina to place runners on first and third. Downing put down a fielder choice bunt that rung Curiel up for the first out of the inning, then Deely wore a pitch to load the bases. Harwell with his 13th RBI of the season brought Medina home to tie the game 7-7.
With two down and runners on first and second in the bottom of the seventh, the Wildcats placed the game-winning RBI single to left field.
