Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Seawolves Pull Out the Win

The Seawolves came out on top Saturday, September 14th at their home game against Concordia Portland. The Seawolves started the game with an early goal a minute and thirty-eight seconds into the game by Oliver Ziemer assisted by Sahr Mattia. The Cavaliers then came back in the 19th minute with a goal shortly after, but before the end of the half the Seawolves scored another goal by Zane Stromberg assisted by Devin Anderson. The half ended with the score of 2-1, Seawolves.

Beginning the second half the Seawolves scored their final goal of the game on a beautiful header by Sean Rohane crossed by Salvador Gomez-Avila. With 20 minutes left in the second half the Cavaliers scored their second goal on a Penalty Kick. While Sonoma State did out shoot the Cavaliers 12 to 5 the game was a nail biter.

Head Coach Marcus Zeimer had this to say about the game, "We needed that win today...Concordia-Portland was very good. The last 10 minutes were very nerve racking, but I'm proud of how our guys saw the game out...We will enjoy a day off and then it's back to work to get ready for a tough game at Fresno Pacific."

The Seawolves' next game is September 18th at Fresno Pacific @7 PM. We look forward to them continuing their winning streak and coming home with a win.
