Fresno, Ca - The Seawolves Men's Soccer Team got off to slow start and never recovered on Wednesday night in Fresno dropping a tough 3-2 match to Fresno Pacific. Down 2-0 at he half, SSU finally gained momentum as
Sebastian Santos found the net cutting the lead in half just 1:45 into the 2nd half. But then just 4 minutes late Fresno Pacifc scored again as Brian Leyva netted his second goal of the night and again the Seawolves were down 2.
The scoring was finalized as
Oliver Ziemer took a nice ball from
Ulysses Vega and slotted it beautifully to pull SSU within 1. The final 30 minutes were scoreless however. The Seawolves had several chances to equalize but eventually ran out of time.
"We are better than out record and we are ready to turn it around," Coach Ziemer claimed after the match. "We have 9 days to get ready for conference play, we will get some key guys healthy and get ready for Humboldt."
Humboldt State comes town Friday September 27 for a 4:00 showdown as CCAA play begins.
