Yesterdays match against San Francisco State was a hard loss with a close finish. The Seawolves kept the pressure high and created early chances.
On a nice dribble through the middle, Eduardo Rodriguez drew a foul in the box where Sean Rohane stepped up and put home the penalty kick. The Seawolves held the score and were up 1-0 at the half.
In the second half the Gators stepped up their pressure and began to create some chances. With the ball swung across the box, SF state crossed a ball in and was unfortunately headed in by the SSU defense. That tied the game 1-1 until late into the game.
San Francisco drew a free kick with less than a minute remaining and scored on a header back across the box and tapped in to make it 2-1.
"That was a tough loss", said coach Ziemer. "SF state is a very good team and we gave them all they could handle, but unfortunately lost in the last few seconds." The Seawolves return to play this upcoming weekend as they travel to Cal State East Bay and Monterey Bay as they look to bounce back in CCAA play.
The Seawolves' next game is on October 4th against Cal State East Bay at East Bay at 4:30 PM
