BOX SCORE On Friday October 4th, Sonoma State took on Cal State East Bay in their second week of CCAA action. The Seawolves came out hot with a goal in the opening 5 minutes by redshirt freshman
Eduardo Rodriguez. The Seawolves continued their scoring flurry with another goal from Rodriguez and a third by
Brian Field to close out the half.
Opening the second half Sonoma had some early chances again but East Bay was able to score off a cross to make it 3-1. However, the Seawolves responded with a free kick goal by
Sean Rohane to make it 4-1. Sonoma never looked back as they continued to press and create chances.
Kyle Owings rounded out their scoring with a left footed volley off the post to finish the game at 5-1.
Coach Marcus Ziemer said, "we were sharp and ready to play today. We got the early goal and then took it to them."
With a rested squad coming off a big win, the Seawolves will finish the weekend with a competitive match against the Monterey Bay Otters. Sonoma will play in Monterey on Sunday, October 6th, as they look for a weekend sweep!
