Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Losing Skid Continues For The Seawolves

Hayward, CA - On Saturday January 18th the Seawolves men's basketball team headed into Hayward to try and end their losing skid and steal a game on the road. East Bay was 5-6 in conference play heading into the matchup so their hopes for a CCAA playoff spot are still alive as the Seawolves look to stir up the standings.

Sonoma struggled early and allowed East Bay to jump out to an early lead. The Seawolves trailed 43-28 in the first half and struggled to contain the Pioneers as they shot 50% from the field and were 6-12 from the 3 point line. However, Sonoma made a big push in the second half as they were able to jump their shooting percentage up from 35% to 64% from the field.

Isaac Davidson lead the Seawolves with 27 big points! He shot 62.5% from the field and was 5-7 from deep! That's Davidson's 5th game shooting 60% or higher from the floor this season. Nick Klarman followed the scoring with 12 points to finish the game. Ultimately, the Seawolves lack of defense in the first half put them in too deep of a hole to climb out of. Their comeback effort fell short as the game finished 80-70 in favor of the Pioneers.

The Seawolves losing skid continues but they return home next week against Cal State San Marcos and UC San Diego. The Seawolves have had some success at home against top CCAA opponents as they took Cal State San Bernardino to the very last possession in a terrific team performance just a couple weeks ago.

SSU will have a great opportunity to shake up the conference standings at home next Thursday and Saturday at 7:30 and 3:00 PM. Tune in to the CCAA network to watch the games live.
