Women’s Volleyball Drops Match Against #14 Cal State LA

ROHNERT PARK, CALIF.-Sonoma State Women's Volleyball kicked off their season home opener against the reigning national champions and currently 14th ranked Golden Eagles of Cal State LA. Despite falling 0-3 the Seawolves had some solid performances and will look to build upon a tough matchup as conference play gets underway.

Offensively the trio of Kaden Young, Jordyn Waite-Ward and Peyton McBride all posted seven kills. Young led the way with a .385 hitting percentage to go along with six digs. In terms of getting the offense set in the first place, Jules Tan's 12 assists and Brynna Slayton's 13 assists were team highs for the Seawolves.

On the defensive side of the net Brooklyn Jackson was everywhere with impressive efforts all over the court. Jackson was constantly diving to the floor which led to a game high 16 digs. She also had two kills and a service ace for good measure. At the net the team accounted for six assisted blocks and one solo block. Emily Hernandez accounted for the solo block and three kills.
