Sonoma State Falls to Chico State Despite Strong Performances from Milling, Nobles, and Bryant

CHICO, CALIF.- Sonoma State battled hard but ultimately fell to Chico State 95-68 on the road Thursday night at Art Acker Gym. Despite the loss, the Seawolves saw continued stellar play from Jakob Milling, who has emerged as the team's leading scorer and top rebounder down the stretch of the season.

Milling led Sonoma State with 16 points on 6-of-16 shooting, including two three-pointers, while also pulling down a team-high seven rebounds. His late-season surge has given the Seawolves a strong inside-out presence and a much-needed spark offensively.

The wing duo of James Nobles and Julian Bryant also made their mark in the game. Bryant was the team's second-leading scorer with 15 points, showcasing his ability to attack the basket and finish through contact. As usual Bryant did a bit of everything with five boards and a pair of assists. Nobles added 11 points while hitting two shots from beyond the arc, providing another scoring threat for the Seawolves. After some early season injuries the Seawolves have finally been able to deploy their top wing options and have seen strong results from the duo.

Despite the setback, the Seawolves will look to build on Milling's emergence and the strong play of their wing duo as they finish out the season. The final matchup of the regular season will come this Saturday with the team making the trip up the coast for a showdown with Cal Poly Humboldt.
