  • Title
    Assistant Men's Basketball Coach

Cole Cummings joined the Sonoma State men's basketball coaching staff in 2024. Cummings was part of the SSU program as a player from 2021 to 2024. After graduating, he was offered a position on the coaching staff. Cummings hails from Saint Helena, CA, where he attended Justin-Siena High School and was coached by Damany Hendrix and Jason Rockwell. After high school, Cummings began his college career at San Diego Miramar College, where he was coached by Nick Gheler.

In his junior college career, Cummings started in 40 games before his sophomore season was cut short due to injury. During his time at Miramar, he helped lead the team to a CCCAA Playoff Game where he scored 10 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in a late-game loss to Allen Hancock. At Miramar, he played alongside All-CCCAA selections Dame Miller, Cam Barry, and Blake Seits.

Cummings is grateful for the opportunity to begin his coaching career at his alma mater and believes he can bring his energy and basketball IQ to the coaching staff and team, helping them make a run at the CCAA Playoffs. Cummings is responsible for player development, scouting, recruiting, and overseeing day-to-day operations. He also assists with practices and film sessions.
