Karen Leitsch joined the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics here at Sonoma State as the department's Business Operations Manager in April of 2020.
Karen has been apart of the SSU community and Seawolf family however since January 2010 first as the Administrative Manager for the School of Social Sciences. In this role she was the Chief Business Officer for the school, which is the largest at Sonoma State. She has been responsible for budgetary and fiscal processes, strategic planning, human resources, risk management, facilities, and general business operations. Prior to coming to SSU she was with UC Berkeley as a Department Manager for Philosophy and later for the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics. In total, Karen has over 21 years of experience working in higher education and we are thrilled to have her skills within the university's athletics department.
Karen currently lives in Novato with her husband, Todd, their son Tyler, and rescue pups Maximus and Sam.
