ELLENSBURG, Wash-  Sonoma State sophomore Brent Lysander has been named the 2007 Daktronics West Region Pitcher of the Year.  Lysander was joined by four teammates on the All-West Region First Team.  The Seawolves open the NCAA West Regional on Thursday at 49-10 and as the top-ranked team in the nation.

Lysander, who was named the CCAA Pitcher of the Year last week, is 10-1 with a 1.39 ERA.  He has thrown three shutouts and struck out 84 batters in 97 innings. 

Fellow pitchers Bryan Oland and Paige Dumont were also named to the Daktronics First Team All-West Region squad.  Oland, a junior from Santa Ana, is 10-1 with a 2.22 ERA and a school-record 96 strikeouts this season.  Dumont, a senior from Lakeport, is among the nation's leaders with 16 saves to go along with a microscopic 0.21 ERA.

B.J. Collom, the CCAA's Most Valuable Player, was named to the First Team as well.  The senior from Gilroy is batting .389 with eight home runs and 61 runs scored.

Eli Rimes and Chase McGuire were named to the Second Team.  Rimes is batting .329 with 13 home runs and Chase McGuire has lifted his average to .326 to go along with his 13 homers and team-high 60 RBIs.

Cal State L.A.'s Jeff Carroll was named the West Region Player of the Year.
