Seawolves' Shooting Ice Cold In Loss To Vikings

Stephanie Barnes led the Seawolves with eight points and eight boards
CHICO, Calif-  After getting out to a 14-4 lead in the first seven minutes of the game, Sonoma State was limited to just 35 points the rest of the way in a 58-49 loss to Western Washington on Saturday at the CCAA/GNAC Challenge in Chico.  The Seawolves shot just 28.8% in dropping their fourth straight as they go to 3-4 on the season.  The Vikings improve to 6-2.

The Seawolves' starting five was particularly cold on Saturday as they combined to go just 7-for-41 (17%) from the field.  Stephanie Barnes led Sonoma with eight points and eight rebounds.  Aly Conway posted seven points and seven rebounds in her second straight strong game.

Willow Cabe led the Vikings with 16 points, all of them coming in the second half.  Western didn't shoot very well themselves, just 32.7% from the field, but they were solid from the free throw line at 22-for-24 (91.7%).

The Seawolves will host Kentucky State and Grand Canyon next week as part of the Hampton Inn & Suites Basketball Classic.
