Sheriene Arikat Wins CCAA Elite 13 Award for 2024-2025

SAN MARCOS, CALIF.- The Elite 13 Award, formerly the CCAA Championship Scholar Award, recognizes the academic and athletic achievement of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the conference championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers.

Instituted in 2017-18, the award is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the final CCAA championship site in each conference-sponsored sport. Arikat has become the fifth ever Seawolf to receive the Elite 13 award due to both her impact on the court and in the classroom. Arikat, a kinesiology major, has maintained a 3.89 GPA while also being a key contributor to the Seawolves on the court. Arikat is currently second on the team in total assists and total steals while also starting in 28 games this year. During the Seawolves first round victory she once again contributed in a variety of ways to the tune of six points, four rebounds, two assists, two steals and hit 60% of her shots as well. Congratulations Sheriene on a well deserved honor!
