ROHNERT PARK, Calif- The Sonoma State men's tennis team gave No. 11 UC San Diego a battle, but in the end the Tritons were strong enough to hold on for a 6-3 win on Thursday in Rohnert Park. The Seawolves fall to 8-11 on the season while the Tritons improve to 10-10.
UCSD took the an advantage in doubles, winning two of the three matches. SSU's lone win came at No. 3 where
Logan Bailey and
Jordan Smith won 8-4.
In singles, the Seawolves came away with victories at No. 3 (
Jeff Stollberg) and No. 4 (
Brett McNulty).
Andy Muesse had a solid match at No. 1 against nationally ranked Bijam Mallemi before falling 6-3, 7-6 (3).
The Seawolves are headed to Reno tomorrow to play Nevada (Fri.) and Portland State (Sat.).
