ROHNERT PARK, Calif- The Sonoma State men's tennis team was unsuccessful in their bid to knock off another NCAA Division I school on Friday as they dropped a 7-0 decision to the University of Nevada in Reno. With the win, the Wolf Pack improve to 6-13. The Seawolves, ranked 34th in the nation in Division II, drop to 8-12.
Sonoma State's best chances for points came in the No. 2 and No. 4 singles matches.
Connor Olson was defeated at No. 2 by Benjamin David 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 while
Jeremy Heckley was edged at No. 4, 6-3, 6-7 , 1-0 (12-10).
Nevada took all three doubles matches to earn the point. SSU's talented team of
Connor Olson and
Jeff Stollberg lost at No. 2 by an 8-7 margin.
The Seawolves will stay the night in Reno before taking on Portland State tomorrow.
