Stephanie Barnes had 14 points in Friday's loss to Chico State
CHICO, Calif-  Stephanie Barnes came off the bench for 14 points, but it would not be enough as Sonoma State dropped a 64-56 decision to Chico State in CCAA women's basketball action on Friday night at Acker Gym in Chico.  The Seawolves fall for the eighth time in their last ten games and see their record drop to 5-8, 1-5 CCAA.  The Wildcats improve to 7-6, 3-3 CCAA.

Chico got out to an 8-0 lead in the first four minutes and didn't look back, leading the game from wire to wire.  The Seawolves would draw to within two late in the first half, but the lead stayed in double digits for most of the second half.

Barnes went 5-of-10 from the field on her way to 14 points in 33 minutes of action off the bench.  Freshman Jaclyn Bisordi posted ten points and Lauren Redfield led the team with seven rebounds.

The Seawolves shot 42.6% from the field and committed 19 turnovers.

The Wildcats had four players in double digits, led by 15 from Natasha Smith.  Melissa Richardson had 12 points and seven boards as the 'Cats shot 41.8% from the floor.

The Seawolves will try to right the ship next weekend when they host Cal State San Bernardino and Cal Poly Pomona.
