Women's Basketball Falls At Stanislaus, 63-55

Lauren Redfield's 15 points would not be enough on Friday night
TURLOCK, Calif-  Sonoma State's offense came up empty for over four minutes down the stretch on Friday as Cal State Stanislaus took a 65-57 win in CCAA women's hoops action in Turlock.  The Seawolves fall to 5-7, 1-4 CCAA on the season while the Warriors remain undefeated at home and go to 7-5, 2-3 CCAA overall.

The Seawolves went up 55-54 on a Jennifer Russo layup with 4:40 remaining.  Not only would this be Sonoma's last lead of the game, they wouldn't score again for over four minutes and by that time, the Warriors had put the game away.

Sonoma State led for almost the entire game, until Cal State Stanislaus took a lead with just over eight minutes remaining.

Despite outshooting the Warriors 43% to 37%, the Seawolves again struggled at the free throw line (47%) and with ball control (19 turnovers).

Lauren Redfield paced the Seawolves with 15 points and five rebounds.  Michelle Gardner pitched in with ten and Russo came off the bench for eight.

Katie Busi had a 15-point, 12-rebound double-double and Gwendolyn Page had 22 points for Stanislaus.

The Seawolves will hope to rebound on Saturday when they take on rival Chico State.
