Katie Parucha scored her first goal of the season on Sunday and senior
Tracy Webster added a goal late in the match, helping the Seawolves to their first road victory of the season by way of a 2-0 defeat of Cal State East Bay at Pioneer Field. Sonoma State improved to 5-5-2 overall and 3-3-2 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. The Pioneers fell to 3-7-3 (2-5-2 CCAA).
After a slow first half offensively for both teams in which a total of nine shots were attempted (five by Sonoma State), the Seawolves and Pioneers settled for a scoreless tie going into the intermission.

Lindsay Catton placed a corner kick at the head of Parucha who put it past Pioneer goalkeeper Nina Cefalo for the 1-0 lead at 59:47. Twenty minutes later, at 79:54, junior
Allison Kern found Webster running in behind the East Bay defense as Webster went one-on-one with Cefalo and found the net, giving the Seawolves the eventual 2-0 victory.
The two Seawolf goals capped off a dominant second half where Sonoma State led in shots (6-3) and corner kicks (3-0) in the final 45 minutes. Webster and Parucha combined for eight of the 15 Sonoma State shots in the match as starting freshman goalkeeper
Alexis Sciacqua notched her first collegiate shutout, making four saves.
Sonoma State will return home next weekend to faceoff with two CCAA south division foes in Cal State Dominguez Hills on Friday (1:30 p.m) and Cal State L.A. on Sunday (11:30 a.m.).
