SAN FRANCISCO, Calif- Sonoma State got 19 points from
Casey McRoberts and a double-double from
Keith Garner to complete a season sweep of San Francisco State with a 77-63 win on Friday night at the Main Gymnasium in San Francisco. The Seawolves snap their five-game losing skid and improve to 8-12, 4-9 CCAA. The Gators drop to 11-9, 5-8 CCAA.
The Seawolves also beat San Francisco State in January, 80-68 at Seawolf Gym.
Down 6-5, the Seawolves grabbed the lead just over five minutes into the game on a jumper by McRoberts. They would not fall behind the rest of the way, building up an 11-point lead by the end of the half.
McRoberts really found his stroke in the second half, connecting on 5-of-9 three-point attempts on his way to 19 points. Garner had 14 points and 11 rebounds to record the first double-double of his career.
Ben Washington (13) and
Steven Pratt (11) were also in double digits for the Seawolves.
The Seawolves showed consistency, shooting 48.1% in the first half and 50.0% in the second.
Robert Hayes led all scorers with 24 points on 9-of-23 shooting. No other Gators finished in double digits.
Sonoma State will go for the weekend sweep tomorrow night when they head to Cal State Monterey Bay.
