ROHNERT PARK, CALIF.- With the season coming to an end a trio of Sonoma State Men's Basketball players have continued to collect accolades for their work on the court during the 2024-2025 season!
Chris Holley joined the Seawolves after spending a year at Santa Rosa Junior College. By the fifth game of the teams conference schedule coach Rich Shayewitz turned the reins over to Holley by inserting him into the starting lineup and never looked back. What followed was Holley simply asserting himself as arguably the top guard in all of the conference. His averages during conference play were stellar coming out to 13.3 points and five assists per game. Holley would shoot 58% from the floor and 45% from three. By the end of the regular season Holley finished conference play second in field goal percentage, second in total assists, second in assists per game and posted the best assist/turnover ratio. Holley scored in double figures on 17 separate occasions while handing out five or more assists 11 times. When firing on all cylinders Holley was an offense unto himself and his efforts on the court not only earned him a spot on the CCAA 1st Team All-Conference list but also had the junior guard named the CCAA Newcomer of the Year!
Alongside Holley, the duo of James Nobles and Julian Bryant were selected to the Honorable Mention team. Despite battling injuries early in the year, Nobles still submitted a career year inside the Wolves Den. Nobles appeared in 21 games and averaged a team high 13.7 points a game. Against conference opponents Nobles scored in double figures 10 times including a career best 25 points on 67% shooting from three against Stanislaus State.
Meanwhile Julian Bryant's stat stuffing final college season also received recognition. Bryant did everything for Sonoma including finishing the regular season third in total points, second in total rebounds, second in total blocks and fourth in total steals and assists among his teammates. Bryant finished the season with career best in scoring, rebounding, blocks and shooting percentages from both the field and three. For his work as a one of the most versatile players on both ends of the court he ends his career as a member of the CCAA Honorable Mention squad!
