LA JOLLA, Calif- Sonoma State's No. 1 singles player,
Connor Olson, picked up a win, but that would be it for the Seawolves as No. 27 UC San Diego emerged with an 8-1 win on Saturday afternoon in La Jolla. The loss drops the Seawolves to 4-8 on the season.
Olson came up with a very impressive 6-1, 6-4 victory over the Tritons' Kizumi Negishi. Zell Sperry came up with a solid effort at No. 3, but that was as close as Sonoma would come in singles play.
At No. 2 doubles, the Seawolves gave the Tritons a match, as
Jeremy Heckley and Sperry lost 8-5 to Nguyen and Stevenson of UCSD.
The Seawolves return to the courts on Sunday at Cal Poly Pomona in an important west region match.
