POMONA, Calif- Thanks to two wins in doubles and solid contributions from up and down the lineup, the Sonoma State men's tennis team earned an exhilarating 5-4 win over Cal Poly Pomona on Sunday in Pomona. The clincher was won by
Jordan Smith at No. 5 singles as the Seawolves improve to 5-8 on the season.
The Seawolves started out well, picking up victories at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.
Jeremy Heckley and Zell Sperry won at No. 2 and
Scott Gaynor and
Anthony Rollins won at No. 3 by identical 8-6 margins.
In singles,
Connor Olson (#1),
Zel Sperry (#3), and Smith (#5) each had victories.
Up next for Sonoma State is a road match at Santa Clara on Saturday, April 4th.
