Oly Larkin scored 19 points but Cal Poly Pomona scored the go-ahead basket with just 23 seconds left on the game clock and Sonoma State missed the potential game-winning three pointer at the buzzer to hand the Broncos a narrow 48-46 victory on Friday night at Kellogg Gymnasium in Pomona. The Seawolves fell to 5-7 overall and 3-4 in the CCAA. Cal Poly Pomona escaped an upset while improving to 7-2 (4-1 CCAA).

Nadia Williams nailed a three-pointer with two minutes remaining in the game to tie the game up at 46-46. Both teams turned the ball over on consecutive possessions but Reyana Colson gave Cal Poly Pomona a two point lead with 23 seconds left. The Seawolves then took the ball down the floor and set up for the last shot but a three-point attempt by Williams with time running out missed the mark.
Larkin's 19 led all scorers in the ballgame on 7-of-17 shooting. Freshman

Aly Conway and Williams each grabbed six boards.
Four Broncos scored in double-figures against the Seawolves, including Colson and Stephisha Walton who dropped in 11 to lead Cal Poly Pomona.
The Broncos jumped out to a 11-2 lead just 6:23 into the game before the Seawolves fought back to tie the game up at 23-23 with a minute left in the opening half. A Colson layup with three seconds on the clock before halftime, gave Cal Poly Pomona the slight 26-25 lead at the break.
The game went back and forth the rest of the way, but Sonoma State took a three point lead on two occasions before the game went down to the wire.
Sonoma State will travel to Cal State San Bernardino on Saturday to take on the Coyotes at Coussoulis Arena, beginning at 5:30 p.m. The Seawolves will then return home for a brief four-game homestand next Thursday when they welcome in the Warriors of Cal State Stanislaus.
